On April 8, 2022, President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda appointed Waldemar Buda as Minister of Development and Technology at the request of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

On 4 June 2019, he was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of Investment and Economic Development which was transformed into the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy on 15 November 2019. Since 23 July 2019, he has also been the government plenipotentiary for public-private partnership.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Łódź. In 2007-2011, he completed legal training as a legal advisor. In 2011, he was granted powers of a legal advisor and opened a legal advisor's office. Since 2011, as a legal advisor, he has been working at the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture – a paying agency for the European Agricultural Fund.

Since 2014, he has been carrying out a mandate of a city councillor in Łódź. In 2015, he was active in the legal assistance office of presidential candidate, Andrzej Duda. In the parliamentary election in 2015, he was elected member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. As the MP, he has been dealing with issues related to the rights of tenants and protection of the rights of cooperative members, among others, as part of free legal advice given by his parliamentary office he has already helped over 2,000 people. He also co-created the act on court enforcement officer and participated in work on amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure. He was the vice-chairman of the Special Committee for Codification Changes. Since 2018, he has been the Secretary of the Sejm.

In private life, he is married, has two children, his passion is running – he organises the Charity Running Pilgrimage to Częstochowa every year.
