Marco has 30 years of business management, sales and product management experience within the financial industry. He spent 25 years between Milan, New York, London and Paris working for institutions such as JP Morgan, the Bank of Italy (Monte Titoli SpA), Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas before moving to the United Arab Emirates to run a local boutique investment bank and trading firm. Marco’s key career roles included Global Head of FX Prime Brokerage, European Head of ADRs business and Global Head of ADRs sales, European Head of Fixed Income Prime Brokerage, CEO of the Italian Central Depository System and Group Chief Operating Officer of a brokerage firm. In his career, he has managed global teams of between 10 and 280 staff. Marco was the Chief Executive Officer of MonteTitoli SpA, the Italian Central Securities Depositary and orchestrated its privatization on behalf of the Bank of Italy in 2000. In the same period, he was Secretary of the European Central Securities Depositary Association, an industry body he represented at consultative meetings with the European Central Bank in Frankfurt on matters related to cross-border clearing and settlement.
He has been serving on several boards as both executive and non-executive director, amongst which FXGlobalClear Ltd’s board, a company funded by 14 global FX banks to finance and develop the FX Clearing services at the London Clearing House and has been deeply involved in the shaping of the post trade and clearing industry for OTC derivatives following the regulatory changes prompted by the 2008 financial crises.
An early investor in M-DAQ, Marco joined the company as General Manager for Business Development and Chief of Staff, CEO’s Office, in February 2019, relocating to Singapore and eventually took on the COO role for M-DAQ Group.
Marco holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universita’ Luigi Bocconi of Milan, Italy.
