Polish psychiatrist and therapist, professor of medical science, full professor at the Jagiellonian University.

In 1973 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical Academy in Warsaw. He received a postdoctoral degree in medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College on the basis of scientific achievements and thesis entitled „Family burden in schizophrenia. Attempt of systemic approach”. He received the title of professor of medical sciences in 2007.

He was appointed head of the Family Therapy Unit at the Department of Psychiatry of the Jagiellonian University Medical College and full professor at the same university. He is a certified psychotherapist and supervisor of the Scientific Section of Psychotherapy of the Polish Psychiatric Association.
