Zbigniew Parafianowicz

Reporter for Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. Together with Witold Jurasz, he hosts the International Report podcast on Onet. He has also written books on Ukraine, describing events in the country since 2003. He has also reported on the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. He graduated in political science from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. He also studied Romanian philology at the same university.
In 2023 he was awarded the international Witold Pilecki Prize for his book “Breakfast Smells of Corpses”. He is the author of “Poland at War,” revealing the behind-the-scenes of Polish policy toward Ukraine, and “Private Armies of the World,” devoted to Wagner’s group. Together with Michal Potocki, he wrote political biographies of Viktor Yanukovych, „Wolves Live Above the Law. How Yanukovych lost Ukraine,“ which made it to the finals of the Ryszard Kapuscinski Award, and Petro Poroshenko’s biography ”Crystal Piano. Betrayals and Victories of Petro Poroshenko.” Finalist for the Fikus Award (for the text “Tupolevism aboard the embayment”) and nominated for the Grand Press Award in the news category.
