Dr. hab. Piotr Wcisło, professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (The Institute of Physics at Nicolaus Copernicus University).

Physicist, leader of a group specializing in experimental and theoretical studies of quantum mechanics on the atomic and molecular scale. A graduate of the Jagiellonian University. He has completed an internship at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, USA, and at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. In 2018-2019 he worked in the laboratories of the prestigious JILA (Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics, a joint institute of The University of Colorado Boulder USA and the National Institute of Standards & Technology). He actively cooperates with leading groups from the USA, France, Italy and China.

Recipient of numerous awards, including the National Science Center Award for significant scientific achievements in basic research, the Award of the Minister of Science and Higher Education in the category of basic research, the Award of the Prime Minister for his doctoral dissertation, and the Fulbright Junior Advanced Research Award. Leader of many research projects financed by the European Research Council, the National Science Centre, the Ministry of Education and Science, Fulbright, and others.
