Marek Świerczyński has been heading the Department of Security and International Affairs at Polityka Insight since 2015. During this time, he has authored over 700 analytical texts covering Poland’s defense policy, NATO, conflicts and crises, technical modernization, and Polish-American military cooperation.

He has been involved in defense, arms procurement, and international security issues for the majority of his journalistic career. From 1997 to 2005, he worked at the Polish section of the BBC World Service in Warsaw and London. From 2010 to 2015, he was the editor of the program „Polska i Świat” on TVN24.

In addition to his journalistic endeavors, Marek Świerczyński has collaborated with renowned research and educational institutions. His partners include Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington, the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Atlantic Community in Berlin, the Polish Institute of International Affairs, and the National Defense Academy.

Studying law at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań provided Marek Świerczyński with a solid educational foundation, which undoubtedly influences the quality and depth of his analyses in the field of security and international affairs.
