BIO

Robert Makłowicz, born in 1963 in Krakow, Poland, journalist, youtuber, author of books and television programs on culinary, cultural and historical topics. He received his education at the faculties of law and history at Jagiellonian University. He has always been passionate about history, especially the history of Central Europe during the reign of the last two Habsburgs – Emperor Franz Joseph and Emperor Charles.

Other interests can be called broad consumption – from literature (favorite authors: Joseph Roth and Andrzej Bobkowski) through music (from punk rock to Bartók, with a special focus on the songs of the Csángó people) to fruit distillates (especially from Williams pears, mulberries, quince, plums, apples, apricots and mixed), wines (necessarily grüner veltliner and pinot noir) and cuisine (a bizarre predilection for mamalaya with bryndza and smoked pork fat).
