From 1989 to 2011, he was a journalist for „Gazeta Wyborcza,” where he served for many years as the head of the foreign affairs department. In the 1990s, he was a correspondent for „Gazeta Wyborcza” in Moscow and Brussels, and from 1998 to 2004 in Washington. From 2012 to 2013, he was the editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine „Sukces.” From 2013 to 2016, he was the deputy editor-in-chief at the daily newspaper „Rzeczpospolita.” He hosted programs such as „Świat według Węglarczyka” and „Słoń a sprawa polska” on Superstacja.

From September 2008 to April 2016, he co-hosted the weekend editions of the morning show „Dzień Dobry TVN” with Kinga Rusin. From January to December 2014, he hosted the magazine program „Świat” on TVN24 BIS.

In March 2016, he became the program director of Onet.pl. Since December 2018, he has been the editor-in-chief of Onet.pl at Ringier Axel Springer Polska.
