Joanna Smolik is the Director of the Strategic Relations Department at the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK). She has been working at BGK since 2010, starting as a specialist and expert in the Structural Financing Department, and since 2014 she has served as the director of the office responsible for structuring financing for the energy, transportation, and municipal sectors. In 2020, she became the director of the Difficult Transaction Structuring Office, which deals with early-stage restructuring of enterprises. Since April 2021, she has been the Director of the Strategic Relations Department, whose main goal is to support the sustainable socio-economic development of Poland by providing financial solutions and comprehensive banking services to key economic entities.

At BGK, she also serves as the director of the „Strategic Security” program, responsible for setting strategic directions regarding the bank’s activities in the field of security and energy transformation, as well as increasing the level of cybersecurity in the economy.

In addition to her work at BGK, Joanna Smolik has gained professional experience in the private equity sector as a fund manager operating in the renewable energy sector. She is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics with a degree in Finance and Banking and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences with a degree in Economics. In her private life, she enjoys spending her free time actively and is also interested in interior architecture.
