BIO

Prof. Paula Pustułka – Sociologist. She specializes in interdisciplinary studies on young people and generations, particularly regarding critical moments in the biographies of young individuals. She also conducts projects in gender studies, migration, and sociology of families and intimacy. Her expertise lies in qualitative, multiperspective longitudinal studies.

She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at Bangor University in North Wales (2015), and obtained her habilitation at the Jagiellonian University (2021). At SWPS University, where she has been affiliated since 2016, she leads the research center „Youth in the Center Lab” and coordinates the study program „Public Life.”

She is a recipient of grants. Currently, she is directing two projects funded by the National Science Centre: the project „ULTRAGEN: Transitioning into adulthood in times of ultra-uncertainty: an intergenerational theory of 'shaky’ transitions” (2021–2025), focusing on the impact of social crises on the sense of adulthood, and the project „IRIMTA: Intergenerational relations in the transition to adulthood of male and female migrants. Study of Polish families of young adults in Germany and Norway (2023-2027).

As a Principal Investigator, she completed the NCN project „GEMTRA: Transition to motherhood in three generations of Polish women” (2018–2022) on family relations. She was a researcher in projects such as „Friendship parcels and migrations” (NCN, 2016–2018) and „CEEYouth” (2018-2020). She has collaborated with the University of Gothenburg, University of Leeds, University College London, OsloMet, Sapir College, and Karlstad University.

She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific articles.
