Jakub Ryzenko

Expert in space policy and the use of new technologies in the security field. Head of the Crisis Information Center of CBK PAN and coordinator of the establishment of the ESA Civil Security Hub in Poland.
Graduated in international relations from Warsaw University in 2001. From 2004 to 2008 he served as head of the Polish Space Office, and from 2011 to 2013 he was involved in the process of Poland’s accession to the European Space Agency. In 2014 he defended his doctorate on international cooperation in space activities. He actively promotes the use of satellite techniques in Poland. He regularly advises on space policy issues to various public administration institutions, including the Ministry of Development and Technology and the Parliamentary Group for Space.
He has been involved in the development of applications of new technologies for security for many years, and has been head of the Crisis Information Center of CBK PAN since 2013. Initiator of a number of projects for the operational use of satellite and BSP techniques for rescue and crisis management. Coordinated or supervised more than 60 operational activations of crisis management support. In September 2024, coordinator of all satellite support during the floods in Poland.
