Piotr Arak has 15 years of experience in economic analysis, gained through work for businesses, international organizations, and the public sector. He has worked for consulting firm Deloitte, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the analytical center Polityka Insight, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Administration and Digitization, among others. He is a co-founder of the first public think tank focusing on public policy and economics, the Polish Economic Institute. Additionally, he serves as a board member of the Brussels-based think tank European Roundtable on Climate Change and Sustainable Transition (ERCST) and participates in the work of many advisory bodies, including the Expert Council on Energy Security and Climate.

He holds a Ph.D. in social sciences from the University of Warsaw, and previously completed master’s studies in social policy and postgraduate studies in statistics at the same university. He also holds an MBA from the Warsaw School of Economics and Université du Québec à Montréal. He completed the Economic Development program at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Dr. Arak conducts research in the field of macroeconomics, sustainable development, and social indicators. His latest book is titled „Pandemonium – Has the Coronavirus Ended the Era of Neoliberalism?”
