Martin Markiewicz is the co-founder and CEO of Silent Eight, a creator of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered solutions dedicated to anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism. Based in Singapore, Martin provides vision and is the driving force behind the company’s advancements in fighting financial crime. As a result, leading financial services providers such as HSBC, Standard Chartered, and First Abu Dhabi Bank use Silent Eight‘s flagship solution, Iris.
Martin has an education in mathematics and over 16 years of experience with software and AI solutions. Moreover, a strong passion for entrepreneurship has led him to launch a successful IPO and create prosperous startups in Europe and Asia. In 2001, Martin launched his first startup, konsultant.it, which offered software and hardware development solutions for small to medium-sized enterprises. Five years later, he secured a position as a strategic sales director at Wola Info, a leading European IT company where he met Silent Eight co-founders Julia Markiewicz and Michael Wilkowski. In 2009, Martin convinced Michael and Julia to establish a hydropower plant company, which the trio took public and sold before returning to technology and founding Silent Eight in 2013. Martin loves mixed martial arts, computer gaming, and is dedicated to a green lifestyle that respects our planet and all of its inhabitants.
